Scenes From a Saturday

We woke up to a morning that was crystal-clear and unseasonably warm (75 degrees!), so we decided to make the most of it.

First stop: The farmers market, where gorgeous autumn produce was abundant....

...and there was a live bluegrass band for entertainment. After a bunch of tots gathered on the grass to watch, the group performed "Workin' on the Railroad," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and some song about sippy cups and diapers before they said they needed to "get back to songs about gambling and loose women."

Next we hopped on our bikes and rode downtown to show our support at one of the nationwide rallies protesting the passage of California's Proposition 8 and other state measures that seek to deny the right of marriage to same-sex couples.

After Harper threw a fit over having to wear his helmet on the bike, we decided it was time to go home and take a nap.
