Inside this envelope . . .
. . . is the final payment on my student loans. I am no longer official property of the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. Hallelujah!
It was always my goal--even after I got married--to pay off my education debt on my own. And despite an occasionally less-than-abundant personal cash flow due to a couple of low-paying jobs and a freelance career that built in fits and starts, I've managed to do it--without one late payment. Things have picked up, so I decided to write one last big check to get Mr. Ford out of my life once and for all.
I feel like mixing myself a margarita.

Great, now can I buy that Porsche I have been talking about?
I am green with envy... haven't made much of a dent in mine and frankly have been in denial... but denial can be a wonderful and necessary thing. Good for you!
Mazel Tov! Some days I wish Ford had never been born.

That's great! It'll be a while before James's loans are paid off. I was lucky and didn't have any, but he has enough for us both.
That is awesome! A burden has been lifted. What a great feeling. Congrats.
