Ten Random Things That Irk Me

1. Maple syrup getting onto my eggs.

2. Unloading the dishwasher/ putting away clean laundry/ unpacking suitcases.

3. Restaurant servers who don't write down orders.

4. The sound of my son's cry.

5. Intolerance and ignorance, especially when masquerading as religious righteousness.

6. "Candied" vegetables.

7. The disrespect of women who give up paying careers to care for their children, especially when that disrespect is levied by other women.

8. Those packaged, triangularly halved sandwiches one sees in convenience stores and vending machines.

9. The squeaking sound that styrofoam makes when it is manipulated.

10. Pharmaceutical commercials.

I get irked that Starbucks doesn't train employees to orient the sip hole of the lid on the opposite side of the cup seam. Some all to frequent fraction of the time they are lined up it becomes a boiling hot dribble glass.

6. The particular wad of change and receipt cashiers give you ( bills+receipt+change stacked on top causing me to fumble organizing for (4) and (5)).

7. Insincerly delivered phrases service personnel are forced to say. "How can I offer you excellent service?"

8. Loud music / PA systems in Mexican stores.

9. Slow internet.

10. That gethostbyname() is a blocking call / lack of asynchronous library function.

11. Shopping in excess of 10 minutes. Was I supposed to stop at 10?

Whew. That was fun.
