The Quilting Bee Lives!
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and one thing I have learned during my 37 weeks of pregnancy with The Bug is that this kid will be born into a pretty cool village. We may not have a lot of family nearby, but our friends have proven again and again that nurturing, supportive relationships are not based on blood alone.
Case in point: Check out the wonderful baby blanket that my group of knitting gal pals surprised me with last night. They each knit a square, sometimes right under my unsuspecting nose during our biweekly meetings, and then met in secret to lay out the quilt and stitch the rows together. I love that these women that I met so serendipitously have become some of my most treasured friends, and now each of them has passed a piece of themselves and their talents on to my baby.

What a beautiful quilt. Gifts made with love are always so special. You will keep it forever and always remember your friends that made it for you and the bug.
How sweet. Lovely, too.
I also like your lampshade.
I'm just glad Harper got his own so that Delia does not have to send the beautiful one that you made for her to Harper to keep him warm!
